Last week, our newest Media Director, Christine Campbell, sat down with us and answered a few questions about her experience in marketing and shared a few fun facts about herself. She joined NHI in June 2015, and we are thrilled to have her as a member of the team!
WHAT DREW YOU INTO DIGITAL MARKETING?
I actually fell into it by accident. I had been in traditional marketing for 10 years and was looking for a change. The only position that fit the bill was an Interactive Media Planner at Zentropy (now Compass Point).
WHAT OTHER EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE IN MARKETING?
I started at Martin/Williams in 1992 and was there for 10 years. I worked at Zentropy / MRM and Fallon and then started a freelance business. After eight years of working from home, I was ready to go back to an agency and started working at Compass Point.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR JOB?
First and foremost, I love marketing. It is a wonderful mix of psychology, sociology, analytics, and networking. Digital marketing in particular is fascinating because it is always changing and evolving. In the last few years I have really enjoyed mentoring the younger generation as they begin their careers – I had fabulous mentors when I first started and know what a difference it can make in someone’s career.
HOW DID YOU GET CONNECTED WITH NINA HALE, INC.?
I met Nina years ago when we started meeting for lunch on a regular basis with a few other women who were also freelancing. I also worked with a couple NHIers at MRM, and one of them reached out to see if I would be interested in joining NHI.
WHERE DO YOU SEE NINA HALE, INC. IN FIVE YEARS?
I would like to see us grow while still keeping the current personality of the agency – smart, fun, and scrappy. From a client standpoint, I see us working with larger, national clients on their overall brand awareness strategies.
WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO RESTAURANT?
I wish it was something funky, but the reality is that I have three children, so it is Noodles and Company.
FAVORITE MOVIE, MUSIC, AND CURRENT TV SHOW BINGE?
Movie: The Princess Bride – it is timeless.
Music: I am a child of the 80’s. I like 80’s hair bands.
Current TV show binge: I am not much of a TV watcher; I would rather read a book. The only TV I watch faithfully is Gopher Hockey games.
ANYTHING ELSE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE?
- I have three children who have taught me much patience over the years: Sarah (14), Alex (9), and Ian (8). Sarah is going to be a famous actress/singer, Alex an astronaut, and Ian will be the fun guy that everyone always wants to party with. I just hope he finds a way to make a career out of it.
- My daughter and I are attempting to find the best sushi restaurant in the Twin Cities area. We are looking for suggestions!
- When I came to NHI I told my friends and former co-workers that this was my dream job. It is proving to be true.
