Tips for Smarter, More Collaborative Client-Agency Relationships

“Give more, get more,” writes Brittnay Dowell of Under30CEO in her article on the topic of client-agency relationships. Collaboration, she says, is a key component. So what can you do to ensure you’ve set yourself up for a successful relationship with your advertising agency? Here are a few ideas on how to make the most of your partnership: 

1. Teach your agency the intricacies of your business: the greater understanding your agency has of your business, the greater the opportunity for them to create the best work possible. Bring us onsite for a few days, take us to an industry conference  – we want to learn all we can!

2. Rely on your agency’s expertise: remember, this is what we do and what we’re most passionate about (plus it’s what we do all day, every day). It is our job to bring fresh ideas to the table and to push you to do things you’ve never done before. 

3. Talk about your expectations: working together to clearly define what success will help us create the best execution possible.

Investing your time in cultivating a relationship with your advertising agency is truly a worthwhile investment. As Dowell says, “You’ll only get the best out of your agency when you put the best into your agency.” Happy collaborating!
