Client Background

Maccabee Group is an award winning brand public relations agency for national companies that often generates staggering results for clients who seek TV, radio, online, web and print coverage for their products and services.

Challenge – Few Rankings

Despite years of high-impact work on behalf of their clients, Maccabee Group itself wasn’t ranking on Google searches for non-branded keywords like “Minneapolis PR agency” or “public relations,” or “Minnesota PR firm” to name just a few. Clearly an SEO project was in order.

Solution – Search Engine Optimization / Local Search.

We worked with their team to identify keywords that both extended and solidified their brand as well as brought in prospective clients. We then optimized content for these keywords, conducted strategic link building, and made “behind the scenes” technical changes on their website – ones that made the site more friendly to search engines without changing the user experience. We also launched localization tactics for the agency, and trained the staff to continue the work on their own after the project completed. (We’re being slightly opaque here, don’t want to give you all the answers).

Results

After our SEO project, traffic from non-branded searches more than doubled. 44 previously non-ranking keywords rose to be in the top 5 searches, and 129 pages moved into the top five pages across four search engines. Maccabee Group now ranks above the fold of the first page of search engines for many of its targeted terms, and for most “minneapolis PR” related keywords.
